Crochet Patterns

Angel Lapel Pin

Materials:
Size 10 crochet cotton thread
Size 5 steel hook
cotton to stuff head
1 small safety pin
6" of 1/8" ribbon for waist if desired
needle and thread

Special Stitches:
Decrease - yo, pull up a lp in each of 2 next hdc, YO and draw through all loops, dec made)

Directions:

Head:
Row 1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (use marker to show row beginning) work around not joining in rows
Row 2: 2 hdc in each sc around (12)
Row 3: hdc in each hdc around
Row 4: hdc in each hdc around
Row 5: hdc in each hdc around
Row 6: hdc in each hdc around dec in every third stitch slip stitch to beginning of row, do not finish off
Stuff head with cotton.

Wings: work in rows around sl stitch at end of each row
Row 1: ch 1, sc in same st, 2 sc in each hdc across, sl st to beg. of row (18)
Row 2: ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each sc around, sl to beginning (36)
Row 3: ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next three dc (these 4 sc are the front of the waist....now we're starting the wing...ch 2, skip 2 dc, 3 dc in next dc, ch 2 and skip 2 dc, 5 dc in next dc, ch 2 (this is the top of the wing) skip 2 dc, 5 dc in next dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, 3 dc in next dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, sc in next dc.
NOW FOLD INTO WING POSITION, sl st into 4th sc of row and continue with 1 sc in each of the next 4 dc (forming back side of waist), ch 2, skip 2 dc, 3 dc in next dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, 5 dc in next dc, ch 2 (this is the top of the wing) skip 2 dc, 5 dc in next dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, 3 dc in next dc, ch 2 and skip 2 dc, now fold into wing position and sl stitch to sc form waist. Do not finish off.

For Skirt: working around sc only
Row 1: Ch 5, dc in next sc, ch 2, dc in next sc, ch 2, dec in next sc, repeat pattern around waist. sl st to beginning chain 3 of chain 5.
Row 2: Sl st into ch 2 space, ch 3 (this counts as first dc), 2 dc in same sp, ch 1, 3 dc in ch 2 space, ch 1, 3 dc in ch 2 space, ch 1, continue pattern around, sl st to ch 3 of beginning ch 3.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc across, sl st to beginning of row.
Row 4: Ch 1, skip 1 sc, 5 dc in next sc, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, skip 1 sc, 5 dc in next sc, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, repeat pattern around. Finish off.

Halo: ch 10, sl st to join ring. ch 1 *sc, ch 1, hdc, ch 1* repeat * to * to fill halo. Finish off. Attach to head using needle and thread.

Attach safety pin to back of angel using needle and thread. Weave 1/8" ribbon around waist and tie in bow.

Angel Pin 2

Designer's Notes: I made it for a pin but it would make a wonderful fridgie also.

Materials:
Size # 10 Thread
Size 6 or 7 hook
Gauge is not crucial pin will just be smaller or larger.

Instructions:

Head
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 12 sc in 2nd from hook. join.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc. join.
Rnd 3-8: sc in each sc. join.
Rnd 9-10: Dec around. Stuff after rnd 9. Finish off leaving enough thread to sew head closed. Sew head closed.

Wings (Make 2)
At the end of the second wing DO NOT FINISH OFF.
Row 1: Ch 2, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook. turn
Row 2-5: Ch 1, sc in same st.(ch 3,sc in ch 3 sp) across to the last ch sp ch 3 sc in last sc. turn.
Row 6: ch1, sc in same st (ch 3, sc in ch 3 sp)across to next to last ch 3 sp, ch 1 hdc in last loop to form last loop. turn.
Row 7: ch 1, sc in same sp ( ch3 sc in next ch3 sp) across to last ch 3 sp,ch 3, sc in last sc. Finish off only on first wing. On second wing DO NOT FINISH OFF. Do Edging.

Edging
Ch 1, sc in same st(5 dc in next ch3 sp, sc in next ch 3 sp) Repeat once. 5 dc in next ch 3 sp,sc in next sc,( 2 sc in next 2 ch 3 sp) Holding first wing wide end up against the wide end of 2nd wing 2 sc in first chain 3 sp, 2 sc in next ch 3 sp and next sc (5 dc in Next ch 3 sp, sc in next ch 3 sp) repeat once. 5 dc in next ch3 sp, sc in sc and across up to starter st. 3 sc in starter sc across to next wing starter st 3 sc in starter st. sc across. join in 1st sc.

Sew head in center of wings securing well. Stiffen and glue hair on (whatever variety you prefer), add a halo (Gold chenille stem works well) to head and a pin back to the back.

Small Turkey Pin

Materials:
Small amount of rusty brown and orange knitting worsted.
Note: You could make whatever color turkeys you wanted to. A brown variegated would be nice for the body.
Size E hook

Directions:
Body: (rusty brown)
Ch 3, join with sl st into ring;
Row 1: Ch 3, work 11 more dc into ring (12 dc); join with sl st to top of ch 3.
Row 2: Ch 1, work *sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc* into same stitch as joining. Skip next st, repeat from * to *, skip next st, repeat from * to *, sl st in same st as last sc. (3 tail feathers). End off--right side.

Neck: (orange)
From back side with feathers at bottom and 7 dc free on top, sl st in center dc of 7 free dc. *Pull up loop about 1/4", yo, insert hook in same st, yo, pull up lp, yo, insert hook in same st, yo, pull up lp, yo and draw thru all 5 loops on hook (cluster made) ch 1, repeat twice from * to make another cluster, working into ch 1 space on top of cluster. Do not ch 1 after second repeat but end off, leaving 3" of yarn for tacking neck to body in top of first dc round. (3 clusters made for neck).

Feet: (orange)
With right side facing and feathers at bottom, sl st in free dc to right of neck joining. *Ch 4, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, ch 2, sl st in same ch, ch 2, sl st in same ch, then sl st in remaining 2 chs up leg to body. Sl st in body then sl st in free dc to left of neck joining (skipping stitch where neck was joined). Repeat from * once more for other leg. Sl stitch up leg to body and end off.

Waddle:
Ch 5 or 6 from 1/3 way down from top of head.
Weave in loose ends, apply eyes (could either use black yarn french knots, glue on 3 mm wiggle eyes or 3 mm seed beads--or for quick eyes, just dot with thin black permanent marker). For beak, use felt. Add pin to back and enjoy.

Pumpkin Pin

Materials:
Size G hook and small amounts of orange and green knitting worsted
2 - 4mm black sequins

Directions:
With orange, ch 3 and join with sl stitch into a ring.
Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), make 11 more dc into ring (12 dc); join with sl st.
Ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc), work 1 hdc into BACK loop of each dc around. Join with sl st and end off.

Stem - With green, sl st into top of ch 3 of 1st row (dc row), inserting hook from front to back. Ch 3, sl st into 1st ch, sl st back into same dc as joining. End off. Weave in ends

I usually glue on the black sequins for eyes and cut a small piece of yarn for mouth.
Slip a small brass safety pin into back hdc edge.
